Update from the Provost - Nixon Review implementation
My thanks go to everyone who has taken the time to read Professor Nixon’s report. It is difficult reading, so a reminder that support is available through the Staff Respect Consultant, our EAP Program. The serious concerns raised during the Review are being investigated. If you wish to formally disclose an experience of inappropriate, harmful or disrespectful conduct, I encourage you to out to the dedicated team via NixonReviewVoices@anu.edu.au.
I have established a Nixon Review Implementation Steering Group to co-ordinate and transparently report on our progress responding to the recommendations. More information, including Terms of Reference for the Steering Group will be published soon.
Our next step is to stand up seven Working Groups aligned to the themes reflected in Professor Nixon’s recommendations and call for Expressions of Interest from staff and students to participate. The Groups will operate for 12 weeks, and their purpose is to provide guidance, local experience and capability from across ANU in relation to the Review recommendations.
The Working Groups will advise the Steering Group across the following areas:
1. Accountability, Governance & Data
2. Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Experience
3. Leadership and Management Skills
4. Workplace Â鶹´«Ã½AV
5. Wellbeing and Mental Health
6. Complaints Handling
7. Bias and Discrimination
The call for Expressions of Interest will be made through On Campus shortly, and will be open for two weeks. All academic staff, professional staff, and students are eligible and I strongly encourage everyone who would like to participate and contribute to consider making an EOI.
In the meantime, any questions can be directed to NixonReview@anu.edu.au.
